National Country Leaders - Charles Mwase (Malawi)

Pastor Charles Kamanga Mwase, a Malawian national, is a devoted husband and father of five—Gabriel, Samuel, Tryphena, Tryphosa, and Mirriam. He surrendered his life to Christ in 1996 and quickly developed a passion for evangelism. While still in secondary school, he led his first open air crusade in his home village of Kasungu and served as chairman of the Student Christian Organization of Malawi.

After completing studies at the Malawi School of Education in 1999, Charles felt a strong call to preach. He worked as a photographer to fund his ministry—traveling, printing posters, and proclaiming Christ wherever doors opened. In 2000, he attended Bible school in Blantyre and completed practical ministry training in Mangochi District, focusing on outreach among Muslim communities. He has now served faithfully as a pastor for more than 25 years and has planted 21 churches across Malawi. He is currently the lead pastor at Church of God in Lilongwe.

In 2016, Charles invited Men of Valor to Malawi for a three day conference in Lilongwe. Later that year, he led the first-ever MOV conference conducted by a non U.S. national—a catalytic gathering in Dedza that drew many men and marked a turning point for the movement. Since then, he has led roughly 20 MOV conferences across Malawi, Tanzania, Mozambique, and Zambia.

Through his leadership, discipleship programs have taken root across the region. Men have come to faith, marriages restored, families reunited, churches strengthened, and countless men have embraced their God given identity and purpose—truly becoming men of valor.
